EMILE CARRIERE--Emile Carriere, 57, of 323 St-Patrick Street, died suddenly
at his home Friday. He was born in Buckingham, and had lived in Ottawa since
1921. For many years he was a department manager at the Slover store but for the
past year had been with the Canadian Corps of Commssionaires. He was with the
RCAF from 1939 to 1945. Mr. Carriere attended the Basilica and was member of
the Sacred Heart League. He was married in Buckingham in 1918 to Normantine
Merangere who is let with one son, Robert of Ottawa, and Four daughters, Mrs
Roland (Lucille) Favreau, Mrs. Raymond (Simone) Lariviere, Mrs. Jack Stewart
(Rita), Mrs. Jean-Edouard Landry (Jeannine) of Hull. The funeral was held today
from the Gauthier Funeral Home, 259 St. Patrick Street, for requiem high mass at
the, Basilica. Interment was in Notre-Dame Cemetery.
