    • FUNERAL OF E. MONAGHAN

      Many neighbors and friends of Ottawa and Fallowfield attended the funeral Friday morning of Edward Monaghan, well-known Jockvale farmer. The funeral was held from the home of his son-in-law, Rene Lafontaine, 195 Bolton street, to St-Patrick's church, Fallowfield where requiem high mass was chanted by Rev. William McCauley, who also said the prayers in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were six former neighbors, Len Davis, Willis Watts, Allan Dunne, Martin Tierney, Wilfred Watters, and Edgar Houlahan. Surviving Mr. Monaghan are his widow, formerly Miss Ellen Herbert, of Osgoode; one son Herbert Monaghan, at home and five daughters, Mrs. Rene Lafontaine and the misses Geneva, Martha and Eileen Monaghan, all of Ottawa, and Miss Kathleen Monaghan, at home. There also survive six sisters, Mrs Edward Daly, Mrs. Joseph Going and Mrs. Joseph McVeigh, all of Ottawa; Mrs. William Casey the Misses Bridget and Annie Monaghan, all of Jockvale, Three nephews who survive are ex-Controller J. Edward McVeigh and Harold and Earl Going all of Ottawa. There are five grandchildren. There were many beautiful floral and spiritual offerings, among the latter being one from the Sodality of the Woman of St-Mary's Church, Ottawa.
