The Clancy family, renowned for their sports activities, lived here from the 1920s to 1930s. Francis Michael “King” Clancy (1903–1986) began as an amateur playing with Saint Brigid’s Athletic Club. His hockey career led him to be a player, referee, coach, and general manager. A defenseman for the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs, Francis was part of the Maple Leafs first Stanley Cup win in 1932.
