Claire Tracy (née Fardais)
September 7, 1939 – June 24, 2021 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Claire Tracy of Ottawa, Ontario announces her passing on Thursday June 24, 2021, at the age of 81. Claire battled cancer the way she battled life’s obstacles, with strength and perseverance.
She is predeceased by her parents Trefflé Fardais and Fernande Sévigny, her brother Arthur Fardais and her sister Pierrette Noble. She leaves in sadness her sister Louise Fardais and her most cherished brother-in-law, Reginald Noble who affectionately named her, Clarabelle.
Left in sorrow are her four children, Nancy Tracy-Turnbull (John), Janet Tracy, William Tracy and Sandra Tracy.
She will be sorely missed as the best grand-maman ever to her grand-daughter, Amanda-Kate Tracy.
Others left to mourn are her cousins, close childhood friends, long-term friends from her career in the private sector and various government departments along with many friends from the condominium complex where she lived for many years.
The family would like to thank the Irving Greenberg Cancer Center, Dr. Garth Nicholas, the staff at the Champlain Health Local Integration Network and the numerous nurses and staff for their amazing compassion and care. And although Claire’s stay at the Redwoods was short, the nurses and staff were amazing in their abilities to pivot as needed.
Friends are invited to visit La paroisse Saint-Remi, 2821 Dumaurier Ave., Ottawa, Ontario on Thursday, July 8th from 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am to listen to music and view the photo montage. Internment of cremated remains to follow at Notre-Dame Cemetery, 455 Montreal Rd., Ottawa, Ontario.
